Frequently asked questions
My Tesla won’t connect (or keeps disconnecting)
First, try Settings → Account → Reconnect Tesla in the app — most connection hiccups are an expired authorization, and re-signing in with your Tesla account fixes them.
If that doesn’t work: confirm you can sign in at tesla.com with the same credentials, check that your car has an internet connection (it must be awake and online for first-time setup), and make sure you approved the third-party access prompt during sign-in. Still stuck? Email us — include the approximate time you tried, so we can check the logs.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Your subscription is billed by Apple, so it’s managed in iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → TesBeHonest. From there you can cancel, or resubscribe later. Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or billing period ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription, and refunds are issued by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your Tesla tokens, telemetry, trip history, and settings from our servers. If you can’t access the app anymore, email us from the address associated with your account and we’ll take care of it.
Why is your range number lower than my Tesla’s?
That’s the product working. Tesla’s dash number is based on an idealized rated efficiency; ours is based on how your car actually consumes energy. The honest number is designed to never exceed Tesla’s — so when the two disagree, plan around ours and enjoy arriving with margin.
Which devices and cars are supported?
TesBeHonest is iPhone only and requires iOS 18 or later. It works with Tesla vehicles accessible from your Tesla account. Widgets, Live Activities, and notifications all run on your iPhone — nothing needs to be installed in the car.
My cost numbers look wrong
Charging and trip costs are computed from the electricity rate you set in the app — check Settings → Electricity Rate and make sure it matches your utility’s per-kWh price (including delivery charges, if you want all-in costs). Supercharging sessions are priced differently by Tesla, so treat those figures as estimates.
